Silmere is a Minnesota based company that offers handcrafted hand woven silk scarves. Our collection is botanically hand dyed with plants, flowers, roots, hand drawn and hand painted one of a kind art work. We take pride in collaborating with the finest craftsmen around the world to bring you the highest quality handcrafted pieces.
With a combination of novelty, artistic integrity, and exceptional craftsmanship, our collection is designed for sustainability, not scalability. Every piece crafted at our studio is a labor of love and a story of the perfect imperfections of the human hand. It takes a few weeks of planning, designing, naturally dyeing and also hand drawing, hand painting before it travels to the other side of the world to our studio here in Minnesota, for the final step - finishing and packaging.
Our Founder
Jasreet is an engineer by profession and entrepreneur by passion. The idea of being an entrepreneur has always enticed her. Silmere took its shape from her love for luxurious handwoven scarves. Born and raised in a city in the Northern part of India called Amritsar, she has closely watched and appreciated the time, energy, and skills that go into doing something so fine and the artistry that is involved.
She feels proud to mention that here 9 year old son and 7 year old daughter are helping her with packing, marketing, and experimenting with natural dyes. They are the team of 3 enthusiasts who shaped Silmere.
